A Vapor in the Wind

[So when I don’t know where to start, just jump in the middle and start there.  I can always re-write before I publish, right? ]

So: Life is short.  Live each day to the fullest.   Most of us have heard that saying and probably mostly agree.  But it’s much harder to do each and every day.  Like for me yesterday was a lazy day.  Am I allowed to have lazy days, where I ‘m not producing non-stop?  I have slowed down over the years.  I don’t push myself as hard or as far.  I take time to stop and smell the roses.  I have a friend that I walk with when our schedules match.  She is so observant of every little thing.  Like a new flower.  Or someone changed the color of the paint on the house trim.  Or another house for rent.   It’s rubbed off on me.  I think I am noticing more– well, sometimes.

I do apreciate life.  Recently I’ve been reminded of how fragile life truly is.  My husband rides bicycles.  Long distances.  He saw a friend go down on the road with a powerful crash which resulted in some very serious injuries– broken hip, ribs, collar bone, etc.    Two other bicyclists in the Carlsbad/Encinitas area have been hit by cars and killed in recent months.  It’s scary.

And a dear friend is still in ICU from a car crash 2 weeks ago.  It’s hard to see him like that.  He is moving his hands.  No brain trauma.  But lots of pain.  Pneumonia.  And so far no signs of movement in his feet.   It’s going to be a long slow road for him, his wife, his family, and his friends.   My heart is heavy for them, and us.

And yet I have hope.   He is alive.  So God must not be done with him yet.  If we are still here on earth, I believe we have a purpose that can only be accomplished by us individually.

Do you know why on earth you are still here?  Do you have a sense of your purpose?
I believe mine is to encourage other people, mostly women, and equip them to fulfill their purpose step by step.    It’s an ongoing process.  It’s a journey.  Step by step
And the Lord God is with us each step of the way.  That’s the source of my eternal hope.

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness.

Who Am I Lyrics
Artist(Band):Casting Crowns

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you’ve done.
Not because of what I’ve done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I’m calling,
Lord, you catch me when I’m falling,
And you’ve told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
Cause I am yours..
I am yours..
